Celebrating Our Historical Roots
By the late 19th Century, Peabody was dubbed the "Leather Capital of the World" and the Mills 58 building was once one of the dozens of leather mills in the city.
Since then, Mills 58 has undergone a remarkable transformation. In 2017, the historic space was thoughtfully restored and reimagined as a vibrant commercial hub where creativity and community thrive. Today, its four buildings are home to a dynamic mix of small businesses—from photography studios and antique shops to offices, children’s play spaces, a cozy coffee shop, and even a neighborhood pizza parlor.
More than just a commercial space, Mills 58 is a place where entrepreneurs, artists, and educators come together to grow, connect, and create something truly unique.
